General Information:

Once you reach the central room, be sure to clear the entire room of all trash, if you don’t you’ll be reduced to tears when it comes to the Earthen Behemoth encounter. You can pull more than one group at a time but beware of the un-curable debuff that “a malformed geode” puts on the group. Each “a malformed geode” that you’re in-combat with causes the “Debris Field” detriment to increment by 5 (so if you’re attacking 3, the debuff will have 15 increments, if you’re attacking 2, the debuff will drop to 10 increments etc)

Upon pull, the group will get the un-curable detriment “Demolish” which does more damage the closer you are to him. For most groups this will just be between 20-30k crushing damage every 3 seconds.

He will periodically emote, “Unatu chooses one of you…” followed by “Unatu pulls back to shatter <playername>!” – the named will directly target that person. That person is supposed to move 10m-20m away in order to take less damage, 5 seconds later he will cast Stoneshatter on the named player and the tank will need to be ready to snap back.
Unatu’s Stoneshatter hits <playername> for 901659 focus damage.

To be honest, that is my theory on the intended ‘strategy’ but in every PUG I’ve done nobody pays attention to the red text. The chances are everyone will stay in.. if so, death saves work and I was also able to use “Intercept” on my SK to stop the named person dying.

Besides that, pretty much tank and spank.


Clear the nearby trash first (may require body pulls).

Ensure you have a water-breathing buff up before attacking the name, Poxrata will periodically flood the room and knock-back, this hurts! If you don’t have a water-breathing buff up you’ll take a lot more damage.. maybe (haven’t tried without!).

Crimson Tide

Poxrata will be rooted at the centre of the room until you kill Grudu, Krudu and Brudu. If any of them manage to land a killing blow on someone, it will heal itself and Poxrata to full health.
Pull the 3 adds to the corner and kill there and then switch to the name. When each add dies, they will curse (actually a curable trauma) a random group member. “Krudu curses <Playername> with his dying breath!”

At around 20% Poxrata will name someone in red text, “Poxrata begins life draining <Playername>, but her reach is only 20 meters!” that person should move and stay 20 meters away from Poxrata! If they don’t she will quickly lifetap/heal herself until that distance is reached. If the named player moves 20m away fast enough she won’t heal and will stop casting “Crimson Tide”.

If the named person doesn’t move fast enough and the name heals above a certain % the she start casting “Crimson Tide” again until she again drops to 20% and names someone again.

The Earthen Behemoth:

Has a a buff called “Stoneforged”. Roughly every 20% he summons between 5-6 “a dislodged stone” where he’s stood, killing these before he has a chance to absorb them again lowers the increment on “Stoneforged”. Tanks need to be quick on the snaps.Stoneforged

For each “a dislodged stone” you’re in-combat with, the groups receives the “Debris Field” debuff (increments the same as “a malformed geode”)Debris Field

Roughly every 90 seconds he casts “Shatter Earth” which is a massive knock-up (it is AoE blockable), when he does this he will also summon 5-6 “a dislodged stone” around the middle of the room.

Roughly every 30 seconds he casts “Earthbound I” which does massive damage and roots, this can increment and must be cured as quickly as possible. If not cured in time it turns into a curse.Earthbound I

DPS should grab any “a dislodged stone” they can find and bring back to the Tank.. don’t forget the debuff you get tho. These things can eat scouts/mages if the tank doesn’t pick them up when they’re in range! Burn them as quickly as possible and switch back to name.

The Vathis:

The Vathis has a buff called “Sentinel’s Stance”, presumably you suffer a loss of max HP if anyone dies.Sentinel's Stance

As soon as you pull The Vathis, the group gets the un-curable “Flaying Fangs” detriment. Every 20% one of the statues around the portal becomes active and attacks the group.. when this happens an additional “Flaying Fangs” detriment is added to the group and The Vathis gets a buff called “Venom Coat” if you damage the name while the add is up, your power is drained. If you don’t have a Chanter you’ll likely want to go Singular Focus and switch to the add as soon as it pops. It IS possible to just ignore the adds and burn through the name but you’re likely just making life hard for yourself unless you have some serious DPS.

There is an achievement for killing The Vathis without killing any of his adds, “Undaunted”


Kavis Set’Ra:

Make sure the Shaman “Water Walk” buff isn’t on before pulling the name. When on the floor, keep an eye out for “bubbles” appearing at your feet, make sure you move if they appear as they will HP and Power drain.

Kavis Set’Ra has a buff called “Acrylic Shielding” which stops you from using Heroic Opportunities on him.Acrylic Shielding

Upon pull, the group will get the un-curable detriment “Wave of Poison”, shortly afterwards the named will port away and “a hooked brineterror” will spawn in each corner of the room. If you look up you’ll see that 3x “a Shade of Kavis” have spawned on the platforms above.Wave of Poison
A column of water will appear depending on which “a hooked brineterror” you kill. (i.e if you kill the hooked brineterror that spawns in the top left corner of the room, the column of water will appear in the top left corner. Make sure you stay on the one you want.) The entire group must swim up these columns of water and drop onto one of the platforms where “A Shade of Kavis” is.. they have a VERY hard hitting divine AoE called Shadowslice which can (and should) be interrupted where possible to make your healers life easier. With 130k resists it was still hitting for between 450-500k and he’ll try to cast this every 5 seconds!

You’ll now need to complete a specific Heroic Opportunity to turn “a Shade of Kavis” into an attackable “a Reflection of Kavis”.. the Tank must start the HO, it must be continued by a priest and then finished by a mage or scout. Make sure everyone has their back to a wall before the HO is completed, once you successfully complete the HO the mob will immediately cast a knock-back “Va Vyanemis” on the group, this isn’t AoE blockable.Va Vyanemis
After they have all died, you will be ported back to the bottom floor and Kavis Set’Ra will immediately cast “Va Vyanemis (knock-back!) and begin attacking again.. he will periodically cast an incrementing un-curable noxious on the group called “Polluted Waters” which increases the amount of noxious damage received by 20% per increment, this makes the un-curable “Wave of Poison” DoT tick much harder.. at this point it’s a pure burn (the bubbles should no longer spawn at your feet).Polluted Waters
There is an achievement for not killing any “hooked brineterrors” on this fight.. “Brineterror Ally”, you would need to instead jump into the central teleporter which ports you to a random balcony and puts a curse on you that removes 10% HP (iirc)Brineterror Ally
